A chopping board made from end grain wood (also known as end grain ) is a type of high quality board manufactured using the cross section of the wood, i.e., the end grain or grain end of the wood, rather than the longitudinal grain.

Instead of cutting the wood along the grain (as in ordinary boards), in this case it is cut perpendicularly, showing the "knot" or end grain. This arrangement has several important advantages:

Increased durability: End-grain wood is more resistant to cuts, as the vertical fibers "open" slightly as the knife passes through and then snap back into place, prolonging the life of both the board and the knife edge.
Natural self-sealing: Due to the orientation of the fibers, the surface tends to "close" after cuts, making it more resistant to wear.
More hygiene: The vertical fibers also make it more difficult for liquids to penetrate deeply, which helps keep the board cleaner and safer for food contact.

This piece is made of solid wood of pink cedar, pine and ordinary species, which have been heat treated and meet ISPM 15/NIMF15 standards for international shipments. It is finished with beeswax and mineral oil. NATURAL VARIATIONS IN THE GRAIN, COLOR AND TEXTURE OF THE WOOD ARE NOT CONSIDERED DEFECTS. THESE CHARACTERISTICS ARE TYPICAL OF A HANDCRAFTED AND UNIQUE PRODUCT, REFLECTING THE AUTHENTICITY AND BEAUTY OF NATURAL MATERIALS.

- Do not wash in dishwasher. High temperature and aggressive detergents may damage the surface of the board.

- Do not soak or completely submerge the board. Prolonged exposure to water may cause warping or cracking.

- Hand wash using warm water and dish soap. Use a soft sponge to avoid scratches.

- After washing, dry the board immediately with a clean cloth and leave it in an upright position to ensure proper ventilation.

- Apply beeswax periodically when you notice that the board is losing its luster or smoothness. This helps protect the wood and keep it in good condition.

- For occasional deep cleaning, mix baking soda with lemon juice and gently rub the surface. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

- Use the included sandpaper to remove surface marks. Clean the surface after sanding before reapplying wax.

- Avoid contact with aggressive chemicals or solvents, as they may damage the wood finish.

- Do not place heavy objects on the board, as this may cause deformation over time.

- Avoid extreme temperatures. Do not expose the board to sudden changes in temperature, such as going from hot to cold water, as this may cause cracks.

- Store the board in a dry and ventilated place. Avoid storing it in humid environments or in direct sunlight.

- This handmade product is guaranteed for 1 year against manufacturing defects. The warranty process requires graphic evidence that proves that there was no misuse or improper handling.

- The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

- Improper use or exposure to extreme conditions (heat, humidity, impacts).

- Incorrect cleaning or maintenance.

- Alterations or repairs made by third parties.

- In case of return, the product must be new, unused and with all its original accessories. The customer is responsible for shipping costs.

- Once the product is received at our facilities, its condition will be verified and the refund will be processed within 7 working days.

- Natural characteristics of the wood, such as variations in grain, color and texture, are not considered defects. These differences are typical of a handcrafted and unique product.

- Customized or personalized products do not apply for returns or refunds.

- Response times for warranty procedures may vary depending on the policies of the transportation companies and logistic conditions (Coordinadora and DHL).

- Domestic shipments in Colombia: Made by Coordinadora, with an estimated delivery time of 3 to 5 working days, depending on the location. Shipments to San Andres Island can take up to 15 days.
